Parish Men’s Group
Our Adult Faith Formation committee has decided to begin a “Men’s Group”. This group of adult males (age 22 and older) will meet regularly for faith-sharing, spiritual growth and support. The group will utilize the workbook, “Signposts: How to be a Catholic Man in the World Today”. The start – up date, and the schedule for sessions is yet to be decided. Those men interested are asked to fill out a survey, indicating their preference for meeting times. The surveys are at the doors of church. For more information, contact Rich King, at 653-5297.
Cursillo Weekend
Encounter Christ on a Cursillo Weekend at the air conditioned UD Campus this summer. The Men’s Weekend is June 26 – 29 and the Women’s Weekend is July 10 – 13. Pick up a brochure in the vestibule. More info? Contact: 653-4559.
Catholic Women’s College Club
The CWCC has awarded $16,250 in scholarships to 12 local students for the upcoming academic school year. The scholarship recipients for 2008 are: Allison Weeks, Daniel Kosey, Alex Maloney, Victoria Robinson, Christopher Morman, John Lynch, Patrick Herron, Chelsea Carey, Amanda Lewis, Jonathon Demeter, Brenna Kaveney and Kevin LeMelle. Congratulations to these fine students and good luck with your studies!
Liturgical Etiquette Please use good judgment with regard to your attire at Mass during the Summer months. It is O.K. to wear more casual clothing which is cooler, but that clothing must still be modest and appropriate. Shorts must be of modest length, and blouses / shirts must be of modest cut and style. Strapless tops or “spaghetti straps” are not appropriate. Shoulders must be covered. Your attire must be respectful and conducive to the reverence required for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass!
Our Lectors for St. Mary’s recently received some excellent training from Mr. Charles Carroll of St. Brigid’s in Xenia. I am grateful to all those who attended; and very grateful to Mr. Carroll for his true expertise. Some who attended are new to this ministry, and we especially thank them and look forward to their participation in this important liturgical ministry: Sally Kyte, Laura Morgan, Amy Paul, and June Walser.
