The Funeral Mass for Roger Hatcher, of Bellefontaine, was celebrated on Saturday May 31, at St. Patrick Church in Bellefontaine. In recent years, Roger had also been a member of St. Mary Parish, where he and his wife Ann faithfully attended the Saturday Vigil Mass. He is survived by his beloved wife and their son and four daughters, and numerous grandchildren. Pray for them as they suffer this sudden loss. Eternal rest, grant unto him, O Lord!
Catholic Men’s Group Our Adult Faith Formation committee has decided to begin a “Men’s Group”. This group of adult males (age 22 and older) will meet regularly for faith-sharing, spiritual growth and support. The group will utilize the workbook, “Signposts: How to be a Catholic Man in the World Today”. The start – up date, and the schedule for sessions is yet to be decided. Those men interested are asked to fill out a survey, indicating their preference for meeting times. The surveys are at the doors of church. For more information, contact Rich King, at 653-5297.

The Silent Auction will take place 2:00 -6:30 p.m. under the gambling tent. Please come and support this “new” booth. The final bid will take place shortly after 6:30 p.m. on the day of the festival. Thanks for all the donated items. There is something for everyone! The Cake Booth needs your baked goods. Cakes, pies, brownies, etc. can be dropped off to the undercroft beginning on Friday, June 13th from 3:00 – 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday, June 14th. The cake boxes are at the doors of church. The “Kids Games” booth is in need of new or gently used stuff animals and / or small trinkets (eg. McDonald toys). Place these items in the bin in the back of church. Remember we need all parishioners help to make this major social and fundraising event a SUCCESS!! Thanks to our wonderful Urbana community sponsors who have given so generously to our festival. We will be publishing their names at the festival and in our local paper. Please note: For the benefit of festival workers and patrons, the Saturday Vigil Mass on festival day will be at 4:00 p.m.
Catholic Faith-Based Weight Loss

From Fr. Ryan.....
Dear Parish Family,
Words cannot express the gratitude I have for all the prayers and support this parish community has provided me with both in my five years of seminary formation and now in my life as a newly ordained priest. It was at St. Mary’s that I first heard God’s call to serve Him in this particular vocation, and it was through your individual witnesses of faith that my vocation was given the nourishment it needed to grow to maturity. Thank you for living out your own vocations with such faith and joy. Thanks, too, for your generosity in providing me with the beautiful Marian Mass vestment, the $500 gift certificate for additional vestments, the beautiful icon of the Blessed Mother and Child, the check for $1000, as well as the $3,100 that was raised at the benefit dinner the Knights of Columbus hosted and that was supported by all of you! I would be remiss if I also did not acknowledge the amazing job our wonderful choir did at my Mass of Thanksgiving and the very noble and comforting presence the Knights of Columbus added to the Liturgy here and at the Cathedral the previous day. I am humbled by your extreme generosity and support. Be assured of my continued prayers for you as I am always assured of your prayers for me.
Sincerely in Christ,
Father Ryan Ruiz
