Fr. Greg Konerman grew up as the second of six children in a
Catholic family in suburban Cincinnati. He was educated by Benedictine nuns at his
parochial grade school of Our Mother of Sorrows; and then by the Jesuits at St. Xavier
High School. He graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts
degree in 1973. He then earned an Master of Arts in Psychology from Xavier University
(Cinti.); and later a Master of Science degree from The Kent School of Social
Work at the University
of Louisville. He worked for 12 years as a psychotherapist,
in community mental health centers and later in private practice. He entered
Mount St. Mary Seminary of the West (the Athenaeum of Ohio) in 1989, where he
earned a Master of Divinity degree. He was ordained to the priesthood by
Archbishop Pilarczyk in 1993. He served
for four years as parochial vicar at St. Martin of Tours Church in Cincinnati (Cheviot); and then four years as parochial
vicar at St. Dominic Church in Cincinnati (Delhi); prior to being named Pastor for St. Mary Church
and Sacred Heart
